One man. Gerald Genta.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is perhaps Genta’s most memorable work, and in many ways changed the shape of the watch industry.
The Royal Oak essentially created an entirely new category of 'luxury sport' timepieces, and with it came a new design language which inspired countless other manufactures.
Unbeknownst to many, the Cobra is also a Genta design, and was released in short succession to the Royal Oak. While the first Royal Oak was reference 5402, the first Cobra was Reference 5403.
Following a similar design ethos to the Royal Oak, the Cobra turns the fun-factor up to 11, with it's supple yet sturdy serpentine bracelet mimicking not only the pattern of its namesake, but also the movement.
If we had to choose one model from the manufacturer that encapsulates the glamour and free-spirit of the 70's, this would be it.
This particular model, features a 27mm 18K white gold case, a stunning glossy black dial with factory diamond-set indices with matching pencil handset, a fantastic integrated 18K white gold bracelet with a signed deployant clasp, and an Audemars Piguet automatic-winding movement.
Try it on the wrist once, and you'll have a tough time taking it off — don't say we didn't warn you!
*Due to the design of this bracelet, sizing alterations may require custom work. Lead time after measurements are established is 4-6 weeks.*
